What to Blog About

I love to blog and I have plenty of different blogs that are in different niches and try to get to it at least once a week. As you can see I am not always so great with that. However I am trying to keep up more as there is always something to say. But is there?

I am a writer so I am extremely familiar with the pain that writers go through when they are suffering from a bad case of writer’s block. This happens to authors who are writing their first book, or their tenth book- and it certainly happens to bloggers. Some bloggers have a rough time with just not coming up with anything to say that they end up leaving their blogs unattended for a while and subscribers to their RSS feeds end up unsubscribing. When someone does that, it hurts but they are not doing it to be mean or spiteful. When people subscribe to your RSS feeds, they want to read up on new things. They are looking forward to something new you have to write about. If you are not creating any new posts then your subscribers will lose interest. I would too, to be frank.

How a Blogger Can Overcome Writer’s Block

There are plenty of ways to actually overcome this. Firstly, realize it is okay not to blog everyday. Really, once a week is good enough but I would not leave it too long. So you can give yourself that time to come up with an idea that is worth sharing. But a very useful tactic in order to get ideas for topics is to explore other blogs in your niche! A lot of people may feel funny by doing this because they are afraid of ethics. If you are feeling the same way, there is no need to feel that way! You are not intending to downright steal someone else’s content and place it on your blog claiming it is yours! Researchers in general have to do this kind of thing all of the time. So go to different blogs, look around for ideas. If someone posts something that strikes your fancy, then use the same idea! There is nothing wrong with that. Go to forums that you find interesting as well. This way you can get some interesting ideas that you will want to share about. I mean, there are plenty of ways to break through that writer’s block but you just have to have the desire to do so. And if time is an issue, then let me know 🙂 I will soon be offering blogging services to those who are interested in having a blog but are unable to have the time to keep it up.

But I will not promote it yet as that is not the purpose of this post. Keeping an updated blog is not just crucial to keep subscribers interested but all businesses need blogs. They need to be kept up. And if time is not an issue, then get your blog updated once a week, go search around on other blogs and forums for ideas that you can use for topics of interest- and write away!
