Selling on Fiverr

Over the last 2 months I have been doing work on Fiverr and made some cashflow with it. Not bad. In fact this is my Fiverr profile and you can see what I offer. I enjoy it for the most part. If you look at it you can see my most popular gigs are blog and forum posting. I have posted on some pretty interesting forums, and commented on some insightful blog posts. I usually like to interact with the buyers but I have come in contact with a few that were obviously lacking common sense like the majority of people in this world. So this should not be surprising really.

One thing that really bothers me is that the majority of people who want to buy a forum posting gig do not ask if I am able to post on a forum which covers a topic that I may know nothing about. Thankfully for the most part, after doing some research I have been able to fulfill most of their orders and they were happy with my work anyway. However there were two buyers who really should have asked me if I was able to post on their forums before buying. One forum was about US Law (and I know little about law to begin with and not to mention I am Canadian) and the other had a forum on unusual investing tactics which I know nothing about. So these buyers bought forum gigs from me and I knew I was not going to get a good rating if I had fulfilled it. But I figured I would give it a shot anyway.

I attempted to work on the investing forum but the login and password that the buyer gave me downright did not work. And I told him this in a message. He got mad at me and said that I must have not been reading it properly because it worked on his end. Ummm hello, I had copied and pasted what he had given me. Then I told him that I know very little of this topic and will do my best if he gives me the right login info. Well he decided to dispute it and I immediately gave him the refund. Geez, but I was glad to have been spared that burden.

For the buyer who wanted me to post on his US Law forum, well I did some research on the topic and found other US Law forums to get ideas from and I did. But then the buyer messages me and says he does not like my posts and asks for a refund. I gladly gave it to him. Geez, why did they not ask me if I could post on their forums before buying??? That is what I don’t get. Assuming is the worst thing that anyone can do. But I think what I am going to edit my profile and tell potential buyers to ask me if I can work on their forums before buying because obviously there are plenty of people who don’t think ahead to do that.

Buying on Fiverr

I have outsourced many things on Fiverr and I have been happy for the most part with what I have gotten. However there was one bad experience I had with a top rated seller! And yes I always look at someone’s rating before buying. They don’t have to have a perfect score because there are always disgruntled buyers for whatever reason. But as long as they have a very good score I will buy from them. But even the best rated sellers will mess up. I purchased a gig from someone who could style up my powerpoint presentation for my business. The turnaround time was 10 days and that is fair enough. I mean I am very busy and my turn around time for my gigs (except for the ones that take 2 minutes to do) are give or take 2 weeks. But by day 9 I had not heard from him (these sellers will usually update you and let you know the status during the time you are waiting). But I was shocked that he did not considering he was supposedly very good. And then I contacted him and asked him what the status of the gig was. He said that he knew nothing of the nature of the business I am in and had no idea how to work on my powerpoint presentation. Oh my gosh I was so mad and he refunded me. I mean I told him after that if he had told me this from the get go I would have been happy to work with him. I mean I realize people make mistakes but this was a HUGE mistake from someone who was supposedly a best rated seller who had glowing feedback from other buyers. And I am sure I will encounter more sellers like this but overall I have to say the quality of the work I had outsourced is quite good.

What to Sell on Fiverr

Fiverr has gotten very strict with what you can sell. I mean it is understandable because there were sellers who had offered pretty nasty prank gigs (such as sending 5000 SMS messages at once to someone’s phone) and stuff like that will create some lawsuits. Not to mention, Fiverr has every intention to stick around and needs a solid reputation. But overall you can sell anything such as backlinks, social media gigs, videos, psychic readings, articles, anything marketing related and even objects. So why not get creative and make some money. I also want to mention there is another amazing site like Fiverr that I am going to check out too. You should too

I apologize for being silent lately. I have been swamped but overall a good kind of swamped. But I will start blogging more often as I need to do that. I want to talk about an article that I had read recently.

This article was written by this nurse who worked in palliative care, and talked to her dying patients about how their lives were and everytime they looked back at their lives, they talked about their regrets. She had noted the most common regrets they had and found the top five:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

Unfortunately this is a regret that a lot of people are still going to have, and will be expressing it when they are in the same position. When you grow up with a lot of expectations set upon you, you are likely going to be living a life that is not true to you. You may find yourself sacrificing opportunities and things that would have been great for you all because it would not have made others who are important in your life happy. And if it does not make them happy, you will feel guilty for even thinking of taking an opportunity that would have been perfect for you. That would be a sad reason to not live the life you were supposed to live. Unfortunately more and more people are doing this, and are missing out as a result. I DID fall into this category but I am working on living the life that is right for me. I don’t want to have this regret hanging over me when I am on my death bed.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

Well I am on the fence with this one. I mean the fact of the matter is, times are tougher than they were back in the day. If you want to live comfortably you need to work. And if you have hopes and dreams you want to accomplish, you need to work. It is a different story if you are working 24/7 and not allowing anything else in your life to come in. That is not good, however, in this day in age, you need to work, and if you have high ambitions, then you need to work hard. Simple as that.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

Well I have that regret now because there were many moments in my life where I had the opportunity to speak up and never did. And yes I never liked confrontation but sometimes confrontation is necessary in order to get what you want and to get your point across. But I am correcting that. I don’t want to have that regret on my death bed.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Well it is easy to get caught up in life’s demands and forgetting to keep in touch with your friends is unfortunately a common thing. I am so busy that I don’t see people very often, maybe once in a while. Being touch with friends via social networks is good for me, right now. And hopefully it is something I will not regret later on. And if things in my life are a bit less hectic then yes, that is the best time to get caught up with friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Wow, I think this is one regret most people will have while laying on their deathbed. Especially with all of the media around us filling our minds with doom and gloom, you will not be happy if you take it all in so seriously. And yes it is true, all of us need to practice gratitude more often than the majority of us do. But here is the other thing. I realize that “things” are not supposed to make you happy but if there is something that you have a deep desire to achieve, working for it with a good attitude will make you happy. So sometimes in order to be happy, you need to work- especially if the mission you are meant to accomplish involves working for it.

I mean it is easy to have mixed thoughts on these regrets that the dying have right now because I am not in their position. And maybe it is a good thing to note because you don’t want to have those regrets when you are in that position. I know I certainly won’t. But all I can say is that if I achieve everything that I am working for, I will not regret one bit for working hard for it.

I am very sad, as today was the last day that my favorite soap opera, One Life to Livehad aired. It ran for 43 years, however I did not watch it until around 25 years ago (I could not have watched it for 43 years regardless because I have not been around for that long). But I pretty much grew up with the show.

I never really got into too many other soaps, except for All My Children very briefly- which also went off the air four months ago, but because I never developed an attachment to it, I did not care other than the fact that ABC has done everything to ruin these shows. The only one standing is General Hospital but I never cared for that one. Besides I would be surprised if that one stuck around for much longer. All because ABC wants to replace these soaps with these cheap shows like The Chew and The Revolution (which of course is replacing my beloved One Live to Live) which will attract nothing but low ratings. I will never watch anything on ABC again because of this, and other OLTL fans that I have communicated with say the same thing. In fact some are preparing to boycott ABC but that will be nothing but wasted energy.

But One Life to Live definitely was filled with engaging and dramatic stories, some involving returning from the dead;serious accidents and miraculous recoveries; multiple personalities; rape; serial murders and murder mysteries that drag on for months (ok that got on my nerves); teen pregnancies and more. I will miss Viki, Clint, Bo, Jessica, Natlie, John, Todd, Blair, Starr, Nora, Matthew, Gigi, Rex, Shane and more. The finale was much better than the finale that All My Children had the day it went off air in September. But we were still left with a cliffhanger that will trigger our imaginations. What will happen next? Especially now after John arresting Todd while he was making love with Blair for the murder of Victor Lord Jr, while Victor Lord Jr was very much alive but kidnapped by that nut Alison Perkins? We will never know, thanks to ABC being cheap.

Good-bye One Life to Live. You were a big part of my life, and sad to see you go.

I have to say 2011 for me was a year of truth and productivity. I have to say it was much better for me than 2010, which to me was a year of putting in a lot of labor with getting little results. But perhaps the lesson for that year was for me to be patient because it has been slowly paying off.

I know that many people view this past year as being the year of upheavals. And it really did seem like there were more natural disasters happening such as the Tsunami in Japan, the earthquakes, and dead birds and fish, etc. It was tragic. But this blog post is about how I was affected in 2011 on a personal level.

This past year I made some discoveries about myself. I discovered that if I wanted to be successful financially and in other ways, I needed to get better at goal setting, organizing, being more positive and did gain a much better understanding of Law of Attraction.

I also discovered that I needed to scatter my eggs into different baskets instead of putting them into one. But at the same time not to over-extend myself. I did release my second book this year, “Stars Behind the Tortured Soul” and it did better than my first book, “My Five Autobiographies” which was released in 2009 (but will be re-released sometime down the road). However, instead of just relying on that to bring me the income that I wanted, I needed to delve into internet marketing and I did! I learned what I needed to about internet marketing (and will always been learning), created my own internet marketing company this past summer and it was the best thing I did! Because I had done this, I not only started receiving more cash flow but gained confidence, and met some awesome business minded people who I plan to be working with in 2012.

At the same time, I had lost a few “good” friends this year in very harsh ways which had left me pretty heart broken at first. But when I look at the big picture, these losses turned out to be blessings in disguise regardless of how painful it was. It just meant that I am in a different place now, and these individuals no longer have a place in my life. I really do wish them well even though their actions were quite ruthless.

Anyway, I have more goals to accomplish in 2012, including the re-launch of “Stars Behind the Tortured Soul” in digital form, and will be offering a course in past life astrology before March. And I will start seeing my hopes, wishes and dreams come true. Cheers for a prosperous new year for you.

Around August of 2010 I met a lady (actually today I would call her a vicious animal) in a spiritual/esoteric community and we connected very well. I thought she was funny, sweet and I believed she had turned out to be a good friend. Whenever I had needed to vent about something, she always listened and gave advice. And vise versa. We also helped one another out with certain things at times. However, once two other women joined this community, things started to officially go downhill. However at first, like how most things start out that appear to go faulty, was subtle. We started speaking less and less.

In all fairness, I was busy getting ready for the book launch (and it will be relaunched next year electronically), and she was busy with her home studies. But I could not help but feel that the connection was dying and the sincerity of whatever friendship was really left was also dying down. And very early this year I was having personal issues and whenever I spoke to her about it, I could tell she could not be bothered. So I got the message, started to lay off and figured perhaps she was going through some things of her own. She insisted not at all except for her step mother being ill. But the weird thing was, she seemed to have time for the others in the community. And it got to a point where I cared less anyway since I was busy setting up my internet business.

So during the summer I realized that there was really no friendship left between me and her. She did text me a birthday wish but I could tell it was so insincere. And we did speak a few times before the fall. But again there was no friendship left. I accepted it. I figured it was one of those situations where “people just come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime” and it was obviously for a very short season. So I felt bad about it but figured it was just that. But at the same time, in the back of my mind I felt like she had downright rejected me (something that she used to say she would never do) and only stuck with those who came into the community later on. It’s fine I mean I have been rejected many times before so it was nothing new for me lol. I can’t deny it did not hurt though. So just as I was about to let it go… several people who knew her let me in on some nasty secrets that she was keeping.

Apparently she was not only no longer interested in whatever friendship we had. She was saying nasty, vicious things behind my back and even turning people away from me and my work. But things like this ALWAYS have a way of coming out. These people who told me about this apologized to me as well because at first they were influenced by her. However, they did not wake up until they realized that she was abusing them too. And boy it angered me, as I felt violated, and downright betrayed. I mean I did some wonderful things for her too! But that never counts.

So I sent her one heck of a nasty email after finding this out. I mean I called her every name in the book and had no regrets after doing it. If anything it felt good to unload onto her. So did she apologize? Nope. Not at all. She tried not only firing back but after I told some others who she knew about the letter I had sent- she gave lame excuses for her actions and kept blaming me. Ahhh how sweet. Karma started to bite her in the butt. Not just because of me finding out what she has been doing behind my back- but how others found out about what she did to them, all at once. So she was not at all sorry for her actions, she was only sorry she got caught! That is why she created these so called excuses for her actions.

And one day those in her little clique will be burned by her too and they will feel utterly foolish.

And yeah I mean I am still hurt but I am hardly the victim here. I am again very careful with who to trust. But the fact of the matter is, I cannot cut myself off from everyone either. So there is a risk it will happen again. And I will put it this way….she knows it is in her best interest to never mess with me again . And I want to look at it as a blessing in disguise. I don’t want to be associated with nasty people like her. Big changes for the better are happening and there is no use for her in the midst of it anyway! Also I want to mention that it is very sad to know that so few people move beyond high school.

Well I think ALL of us have been fooled. Not just once but twice, or even more, by the same person! That is the only way we learn some harsh lessons. Some take longer to learn that lesson than others. I tend to be a slow learner when it comes to that. The weird thing is I am intuitive for the most part. But hey maybe I like to see just the good in others and then I end up getting burned as a result. I have been known to give second chances, or even third chances.

Will I continue to give those who screwed me over once a second chance? Honestly, I am not sure. I mean on one hand, I realize that no one is perfect, and since I am also not perfect how can I expect anything more from anyone else? I mean people make mistakes. But at the same time, lets refer to the title of this blog post. Fool me once, shame on you- fool me twice, shame on me! Thinking of that, I am less inclined to give second chances. But I think it would have to depend on a lot of things. If a “friend” attempted to steal from me, or spread nasty lies about me, I would say definitely not. But if a friend said something extremely hurtful and he or she was having a very bad day, and filled with stress- after an apology I may consider giving that person a second chance. But if it were to happen again, sayonara! But one thing I can promise is.. I may give someone a second chance depending on the situation but as far as I am concerned, no one deserves a third chance! So it would be, “fool me once- shame on you; fool me twice- shame on me; fool me three times- where is my dignity? May as well just sell my soul to the devil”.

If someone screws you over twice, you would KNOW that you cannot have someone who does that in your life. And I have definitely learned my lesson since I had a “friend” who may not be all there in her mind… but after she had flipped out on me once, I accepted her back into my life after an apology and she seemed incredibly sincere. Lo and behold she did it again and she did some horrible things as well, and like I said she is not in her right mind. Even if she apologizes, I will never, ever accept it and she can forget about being accepted into my life again. (And I also know she is constantly reading my blog, which I have not updated for a while because I AM BUSY but I know she is lurking). So… you know who you are, and I know you are reading this. I hope it sinks into your thick skull so if you are thinking of contacting me again, dream on and don’t act on it. Because if you do, do you remember what I needed to do last time? I would do it again in a heartbeat if you attempted to contact me again. So since I know you are reading my blog, I am onto you sweetheart. You can forget about a third chance! I am not willing to sell my soul to the devil which is you. You messed up for life, deal with the consequences.

I am not perfect. In fact I am far from perfect. I make mistakes and I make a lot of mistakes. There is always room for improvement in my life. I am work in progress. But at least I have the guts to admit it! And if I don’t like something or even someone, I will not hesitate to say it. I just won’t name names out in the open so I can save myself a lawsuit. I don’t know, maybe I can be too blunt at times especially if someone rubs me the wrong way. I realize no one is perfect either, and how could I expect otherwise since I am not? But I will tell you what trait in an individual I DO NOT tolerate.

Before I go on, I am not even talking about general hypocrisy such as environmental activists secretly throwing litter on the ground. Okay that is annoying and I do not like it. However if that is the worst trait that someone has, I can look beyond it. Who am I to judge? I am sure I have said one thing and have done the opposite as well.

But this is what really gets to me. Those who have a “holier than thou” attitude On yes those types REALLY rub me the wrong way. Especially if these people come off as “spiritual” or are the ones that are professing “love and peace”. They can never admit they are not perfect like the rest of us. They will always find faults in others and will make it seem as if you had committed the worst crime over something incredibly benign. And they will always add that they have a degree in psychology or law, and an x number of years of experience in a particular field to back up their argument. They will always find an excuse to say you have the problem and they don’t. And the most amusing part about these people is that they are actually the LEAST perfect of all! They are the ones that are the most insecure and unhappy, are heavily in denial, and needless to say they have a lot of inner work to do! They are the ones who need to take a good look in the mirror and realize that they are anything but “holier than thou”. I would think that deep down they know that, or maybe not. They may have trained themselves to believe their own “truths” or rather lies for so long they really do believe they are perfect.

Yes, I did have a run in with one earlier. This woman I had met through a mutual friend several weeks ago. She had a lot in common with me. I did like her at first but she did have her moments of taking things the wrong way. I suspected she got offended easily so I made sure I was careful with my words with her. But I did not try hard enough apparently. This morning I had told her something quite benign and she twisted it right around, put words into my mouth, and told everyone in a group where we were in everything I told her in confidence. She made a mockery out of me. Well tried to anyway. In the end, she ended up appearing as the fool and because I walked away I came out being the good one. However, one mistake I made while I was having my argument with her was calling her an idiot. I don’t regret calling her that for the sake of her. I really could have said to worse to her if I wanted to. But the reality is, I shot myself in the foot by calling her names. Obviously she was very hurt by that comment and things escalated after that. I called her an idiot, and she all of a sudden became even more “holier than thou”.

I may be still quite upset by what she did, but it sure helps to blog Eventually she will come into a situation that will really knock her to her knees and make her realize that she is anything but “holier than thou”.

Social media expert and author, Trey Pennington committed suicide this morning just outside of a church in South Carolina. I did not know him very well, but from what little I could see- it “appeared” he had been living a good life. He appeared to be living the life that everyone would want! He was popular, always seemed upbeat, he seemed successful. But appearances obviously can fool you.

Apparently he not only was going through a very bitter divorce, but he suffered from depression. While he was going through a stormy time, he let his depression get the best of him. He did not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, he took his life. People, please take depression seriously. It can kill. What happened to Trey Pennington is proof of that.

Depression is a Real Disease

People with depression have to constantly work at being “happy”. They constantly have to fake it until they know they can make it. Even if they are on the right anti-depressants for it, it does not cure depression. It is very difficult for them to just dust themselves off and keep going especially while enduring a difficult time. How do I know this? Because I have it. I have had it since the day I was born. There is depression on my father’s side.

And to make things worse, I was that kid in school who was “different”, overweight, had acne, and was brutally picked on. Especially in junior high. One night when I was 12, after having a horrible day at school I wanted to end my life. My mother was also angry with me for some reason that particular night. I was sick of life and took a pair of scissors and wanted to slit my wrists with it. However, right before I attempted it, my mother walked into my room and wanted to discuss things with me. She had no idea what I was about to do. And many other times as a young teen I had thoughts of suicide but never attempted it again. I was not sure if I ever had the guts to do it.

Through out most of my life, I felt like I was there to exist. I rarely felt joy. I never really lived. I just was…. there. I believed I was unworthy, and people ignored me. I believed that only poverty was in the cards for me. Certain life circumstances had nearly put me over the edge again such as suffering from post partum depression (and yes, women who have a history of depression are at high risk for that) as well as having to face up to my son having autism almost five years ago. Sometimes, life truly sucks. Especially when you have depression.

However, the older and wiser I have become, I know that even during the darkest moments that suicide is just not an option. Like Winston Churchill had said “when you are going through hell, keep going”. I could not do that to my family. And I certainly owe it to myself to find out what happiness really is.

Over the past year, I have made some important discoveries about myself and my needs. I think what shook me up was reading an article online about how suicide rates among middle aged women had spiked drastically over the past few years. The reason being is that these women have worked very hard, raising children and taking care of their husbands while feeling extremely under-appreciated. They took care of everyone else while their needs were neglected. When they reached their mid-life crisis point, it hit them like a ton of bricks, they saw no hope for the future and took their lives. I feared that if I kept putting my needs on the back burner while dealing with depression on a daily basis, I could snap too. Quite easily. This is something I do not want to find out.

This made me realize that instead of putting everyone else’s needs ahead of mine, I need to attend to mine first. Sometimes you have to be a bit selfish in order to help others. How can you be of any help if you are feeling even more unhappy and depleted? People with depression often times become martyrs. All that does in the end is leave you feeling even more depressed, angry and resentful. I used to be a martyr. But over the last few months especially I have discovered my boundaries. I used to whine about people taking advantage of me. Well I was the one to blame for that because I did not acknowledge my boundaries.

I may still have my daily battles with depression, and have my moments of feeling unworthy. But the difference is now, when I catch myself thinking that way, I remind myself that I am just as worthy of being happy and achieving my goals and dreams like anyone else is. I know I need to take better care of myself to feel better as well. I know what I want and I have dreams that I know need to come true. I created a vision board. Bristol board with pictures of the things that represent my goals and wishes. I soak those images in every night before I go to bed. Since I have done that, I have felt slightly more peaceful within and have been coming across great opportunities that very well could lead me to achieving what I want. I owe it to myself to allow myself achieve the good things in life, even if that means I have to take care of my own needs first. For anyone, especially for those who have depression, that is a necessity.

Perhaps Trey Pennington felt depleted and under-appreciated on top of dealing with depression. If that was the case, no wonder he snapped.

But if you sense someone is going through depression, be there for that person. Being supportive and caring can save lives.

I am sure many people have heard of The Secret. When I did read the book, I was in a very bad place in my life several years ago. I believed at the time that perhaps there was truth to some of it. But I believed the majority was bunk. I was in no shape to practice it. Today, while I am thankfully at a much better place in my life, I actually think there is more truth to The Secret than before. However, I have to say, not by much. I still think that a lot of it is bunk.

At this time, lets focus on the legitimate points about The Secret, or any kind of Law of Attraction book:

1. When you shift into a positive mindframe, you will attract positive people and weed out the negative ones (or inspire them), and you will attract better things in general. All because your vibration is higher.

2. When you are thinking more positively, you will want to weed out junk food (except for the occasional chocolate treat) and possibly even lose weight naturally.

3. You will start to enjoy life and snap out of the victim mode.

4. Make note of what you are thankful for instead of focusing what is wrong in your life.

Those are legitimate points about the Law of Attraction, and THOSE do work. What the Law of Attraction is, when you think a thought, speak a word and act in a certain way, the energies go out to the Universe. Therefore if you are thinking negative thoughts all of the time, you will keep running into negative people and attracting more negativity. That includes on focusing what you don’t want in life. Because focusing on what you don’t want will keep the energies going and will attract more things in life you simply don’t want. This is why it is important to focus the things you DO want and believe what is very important to you, will come. For instance, you start a business and have a positive mindset. You will naturally attract good marketers to help you market the business the right way, and sooner rather than later you will be successful.

However, a friend of mine and I were discussing it a few days back. What turns people off about the Law of Attraction is that there are so many so-called gurus hyping it.

They make outrageous and false promises that if you follow the Law of Attraction, you can cure diseases, and basically have everything go your way if you visualize it. No, sorry I do not at all buy into that.

I firmly believe that when we incarnate into this earth we are given certain challenges that will not disappear even if you use the Law of Attraction. And sometimes life just deals you a difficult hand. But the thing to remember is, if we follow the Law of Attraction, we can make our lives better and be happier regardless of our situation.

Goal setting breeds success.

Goal setting strategy is a common practice among successful people. Successful people know that people must be proactive instead of reactive. If you are already successful and want to stay that way, goal setting is definitely one way of being in control.

Goals give us direction and objective enhancing our motivation and focus. It allows us to look beyond our actions and see the progress that has made. This expectation provides us with fuel to further our drive to reach our goals.

The strategy of goal setting is an influential aspect of every research and practice in improving performance.

Goal Setting Strategy

There are a few goal setting strategies that should be considered first before actually outlining goals. Visualize this strategy and picture the story of the bucket that never appears to fill up:

1. Core values

The most important goal setting strategy is to make a decision on what is important to you. If you can identify your main values you can decide what core projects to set that your life should have primary focus on.

Visualize that these core values are the rocks that would be the first to be fit down in the bucket.

2. Secondary Values

We could divide the core values of our life into different aspects. We can then find secondary values to complement the core values that you have identified previously.

Imagine that these secondary values are the pebbles that will fit down into the bucket in the spaces that are between the rocks.

These pebbles are a representation of the other projects that contribute towards those widest categories of your life’s core values.

3. Daily Activities

Another very important goal setting strategy would be to identify actual daily activities that contribute towards our multitude of projects. These daily activities actually complement our secondary values.

Imagine that these daily activities are the sand that would fill out the spaces left behind by the rocks and the pebbles.

4. The Action that We Take

The bucket is already filled with rocks. At the same time there are still some very small cracks or crevice that needs filling. That is the water. Even a tiny crevice could be filled-up by water.
